Honoring Heritage in the Path to Healing

At Aliya’s Native American Program, we believe that true addiction recovery begins when treatment honors both the mind and spirit. Our Native American Treatment Program is built around cultural and spiritual traditions, trauma-informed care, and research-based therapies. Designed for Native people and open to all who seek a culturally sensitive approach, this health program integrates traditional Native healing with modern clinical practices to support sustainable recovery from alcohol and substance abuse.

As a trusted treatment center provider, we offer treatment programs that address substance use disorders, mental illness, and co-occurring conditions in a way that respects Native culture and uplifts Native communities.

Supporting Native American Women and Men in Recovery

Addiction impacts everyone, but Native American women face unique challenges, including higher rates of domestic violence, trauma, and barriers to care. Our treatment facility offers gender-sensitive treatment programs to address these needs in a safe, respectful environment.

We also recognize the importance of involving families and native communities in the healing process, offering education and resources that strengthen community health and support long-term recovery journeys.

Why Specialized Native American Treatment Matters

American Indians face some of the highest rates of drug abuse, illicit drug use, and alcohol and substance abuse in the United States. Historical trauma, systemic inequities, and limited access to culturally competent care often worsen these issues. Without programs that incorporate traditional healing and cultural and spirituality, many native communities struggle to break free from cycles of addiction.

Aliya’s treatment programs provide a space where traditions are honored and Native culture is embraced. We address the root causes of abuse disorders while empowering individuals to reclaim their heritage and identity through traditional Native practices.

A Culturally Integrated Treatment Experience

Our culturally integrated treatment programs are structured to meet every stage of recovery. This level of care approach ensures that each client has the right support whether they are beginning detox, engaging in inpatient therapy, or transitioning back into their community during treatment in the outpatient levels of care.

In our recovery center, the treatment experience includes:

  • Individual and group therapy blending CBT, DBT, ACT, and culturally adapted practices.
  • Ceremonial gatherings like sweat lodges, talking circles, and White Bison Wellbriety Certified healing groups.
  • Hands-on traditional healing activities, such as beadwork, drum circles, smudging, and paddle carving.
  • Integration of community ceremonies and Alcoholics Anonymous meetings designed for Native American women and men.
  • Education on relapse prevention, coping skills, and the connection between cultural and spirituality in recovery.

The Role of White Bison and Wellbriety

Our Native American program is inspired by the White Bison movement and Wellbriety Certified treatment, which combine the Medicine Wheel with addiction treatment philosophies rooted in Indigenous wisdom. These practices address the whole person—behavioral health, spiritual well-being, and physical recovery—providing tools that go beyond abstaining from drugs and alcohol and instead focus on building a fulfilling, connected life.

Access to Care and Community Partnerships

As a behavioral health treatment center provider dedicated to serving native people, Aliya’s Native American Program works closely with tribal health programs, Indian Health Services, and other organizations to improve accessibility to quality care. Whether entering a residential treatment program or transitioning into outpatient treatment, patients benefit from continuous support and coordination between our treatment center and local resources.

We also collaborate with recovery networks, Alcoholics Anonymous, and community organizations to help patients stay connected long after leaving our treatment facility.
